"It has been my honour to have served over the past six years as President of the IAB," commented Peter Kurz (on the left in the cover picture) through the IAB website. "I now look forward to fully investing my time and energy in ensuring that Israel is represented at the Tokyo Olympics by the best and most well-prepared baseball team possible."

Kurz was elected IAB President in 2014 having previously been Secretary General for eight years.

"The task of the Israeli Baseball National Team General Manager in the coming months will be immense and we respect the decision that Peter has made," Alter said.

The Israeli Baseball National Team will soon open camp in New York, USA having earnt an historic Olympic spot last year, winning the Europe/Africa Qualifier in Italy.

The new IAB President announced a new project as baseball in Israel continues to grow: "We are about to build a field and complex in Beit Shemesh, thanks to the help of our partners JNF-USA, which will become Israel’s national baseball stadium.

"My focus is to bring awareness that we are building baseball here. 800 youth currently play in organized baseball leagues and clinics throughout Israel. The Olympics is a big opportunity to get the word out."
