Qualification Process
- Japan (host)
- Premier12 2019 (MEX, TPE, KOR, JPN - 2-17 November 2019): Korea qualified as the highest placed team from Asia/Oceania, excluding Japan, and Mexico as the highest placed team from the Americas in the final standings.
Two continental qualification events:
- WBSC Baseball Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier (ITA - 18-22 September 2019): Israel qualified as the winner of the eight-team tournament.
- WBSC Baseball Americas Olympic Qualifier (USA - 31 May to 5 June 2021): USA qualifed as the winner of the eight-team tournament.
- WBSC Baseball Final Olympic Qualifier (MEX - 22-26 June, 2021): Dominican Republic qualified as the winner of the three-team tournament.
